Note From the Director:
Kids have always been my role models. They have inspired me to be truthful, positive, helpful, and simple. Therefore, it gives me a great pleasure to dedicate my passion of making films to produce my first film about childhood games in my beloved Ethiopia (a two years project). Shot in a typical "Sefer" village in Ethiopia, this film is an original production of the games Ethiopian kids have been playing for generations. I would like to provide this opportunity for your kids to see these games as played in Ethiopia without overwhelming special effects. They are fun, competitive, educational, and cultural. Extra effort has been taken to depict these childhood games in original settings, including the costume selections and neighborhood. Even though most games are self-explanatory, simple explanation in English is included at the beginning of each game. I would also hope that you enjoy this film. It is amazing how much has and has not changed since the last time we played childhood games.
